Social welfare Ireland: Thousands to receive boost as 2023 kicks off with major changes to payments

Thousands of social welfare recipients will see a huge boost as a number of changes are set to take hold.

The government announced a variety of additional supports as part of Budget 2023 including for those who are on lower rates of payments. A total of €23.4 billion was allocated to the Department of Social Protection.
