Some good news for social welfare recipients as they will be receiving their payments early this week.
Post officers and banks across Ireland will be closed due to May 1 being a public holiday. This means social welfare and pension payments will not be made on the first Monday of May.
People who are owed payments on May 1 will instead see the money land in their accounts on Friday, April 28 due to the long weekend. Here is a full list of changes to expect to various payments:

Post Office
You can collect your payment from the post office on Friday, April 28 as they will be closed on Monday.
Bank Accounts
Welfare and state pension payments should land in your bank accounts or credit unions on Friday, April 28.
Child Benefit
The Child Benefit payment that is due on Tuesday, May 2, will be issued early on either Friday or Saturday this week.
