Social care recruitment efforts have been branded “largely ineffective” by a leading care body as figures revealed millions have been spent on a Government campaign in recent years yet vacancies have hit a record high.
There were 165,000 vacancies in the social care sector in 2021/22 – the same year almost £6.5 million was budgeted for the adult social care recruitment campaign, according to figures retrieved by Care England.
