Socceroo Boyle on the mark again for Hibs

Socceroos winger Martin Boyle will head to Australia for two internationals against New Zealand full of confidence after netting again in the Scottish Premiership.

Boyle, who recently returned to Hibernian after a stint in Saudi Arabia, scored his third goal in six games to help his side to a 3-1 win over Aberdeen on Saturday.

The victory moves Hibs up to 11 points and fifth on the table, one place and one point above the Dons.

Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin was not too complimentary after fulltime, accusing Ryan Porteous of cheating to win Hibernian a penalty first-half penalty at Easter Road.

Porteous and Dons defender Liam Scales tangled in the penalty box in the final minute of the first half, with the Irishman sent off for a second booking.

Boyle converted the spot-kick to draw his team level after a Luis 'Duk' Lope opener, before two Josh Campbell goals sealed the win for Hibs.

"I don't know how many times the boy Porteous can get away with that kind of stuff," Goodwin said.

"We're telling our players in midweek to be careful with him in the box, be careful with him at set-plays and don't touch him as he will go over.

"I actually had a laugh and a joke with the referee prior to the game to make him aware of it. Unfortunately, just before halftime he was sucked in hook, line and sinker.

"People will say he's good at it and he's clever, but it's blatant cheating as far as I'm concerned and it has cost my team points.

"I told Porteous to his face after the game what I thought of him. I don't care what he reads in the paper on Sunday and Monday. He knows. He's laughing about it. He celebrates winning penalty kicks like he's scored a goal."

Elsewhere, Rangers scored a 2-1 home win over bottom-placed Dundee United, for whom Socceroos defender Aziz Behich played a full game, to move them within two points of leaders Celtic, who are away to St Mirren on Sunday.

Livingston beat Kilmarnock 1-0 and St. Johnston drew 0-0 with Ross County.
