A new take on fantasy football has today been launched to give fans the chance to face off against their friends in real-time during matches.
Sorare, the global sports entertainment company, has launched head-to-head game mode 'Rivals', which allows friends to pick a game on any day, pick players from the two line-ups with the aim of earning the most points and prizes.
It's instant FPL and is available across a host of European leagues. No need to wait for gameweek deadlines, with new games every day to dip into to accompany watching the game at home or in the stadium.
A statement reads: "Rivals also introduces new gameplay for Managers in the form of tactics they can assign for their teams that provide a bonus based on specific criteria. For example, the “Tiki taka” tactic provides bonus points for a team if a certain number of accurate passes are made by selected players, while “All out attack” does the same if a certain number of shots on goal are reached.
"Once their lineup is set, Managers can compete head-to-head against a friend, and once they’ve claimed their first victory, they can compete in the Arena against another Sorare Manager with a similar ranking and the opportunity to climb the ranks on the global leaderboard. Rivals is designed to reward the most knowledgeable and engaged football fans, with win streaks and in-game achievements unlocking potential prizes including player-signed football jerseys, digital player cards that you trade and sell, and much more.

The new 'Rivals' mode launches today, Thurday, January 11, 2024, and is available on the Sorare app on the App Store and Play Store.
