The world was shocked Saturday morning when, per multiple reports, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins died in South Florida after being struck by a vehicle.
After the sad and tragic news of Haskins’ passing, several around the NFL expressed their emotions through social media. Washington owners Dan and Tanya Snyder released a statement. It was Dan Snyder who pushed for his team to draft Haskins out of Ohio State in 2019 after a record-breaking 2018 season with the Buckeyes.
Washington head coach Ron Rivera and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin were also among those to release statements. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who was Haskins’ teammate at Ohio State for two seasons posted a message on Twitter of the two quarterbacks embracing after a game last season.
