SNT fans stunned as pregnant guest flown in helicopter to wedding amid Storm Eunice

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway kicked off a new series with a heartwarming segment, with one audience member tying the knot with her fiancé at the end of the show.

Oblivious bride Vicky was sitting in the audience of the ITV show on Saturday night, when hosts Ant and Dec surprised her at the start of the show with their plans for a live on-air wedding.

In order to make it to her dream wedding in time, Vicky - who is pregnant and due in May - 'needed' to take a helicopter ride to the location, as Storm Eunice caused chaos across the country.

After speaking to her fiancé Nick via video link, Ant and Dec sent Vicky on her way to walk down the aisle.

"The problem is, you've only got around 45 mins to get there," Ant told the stunned bride-to-be, as the cameras panned to a shot of a Saturday Night Takeaway branded helicopter.

Viewers watching at home were shocked to see the travel plans, thanks to the horrifying wedding conditions the U.K has experienced over recent days.

"I don’t know anything about helicopters, but flying a pregnant woman during a storm? Ok lol #SaturdayNightTakeaway #antanddec," one fan took to Twitter to muse as the show aired on Saturday night.

"God praying for her in the helicopter in this wind," another added, with a third writing: "Imagine getting a helicopter ride to your wedding when a recent storm has ripped the roof of an arena? Nah, me neither."

One viewer watching at home even tweeted Ant and Dec directly, clearly not a fan of their secret stint as wedding planners.

"Sorry @antanddec but I would be livid if you did that to me - 6 months pregnant, in a helicopter, having to hurry through the day that she has been planning for a lifetime- in 45 mins, all so you could make a tv show. So unfair. #antanddec #saturdaynighttakeaway," they fumed on Twitter.

Despite concern from social media users, Vicky seemed ecstatic with her impromptu nuptials.

At the start of the show, viewers learned how the bride-to-be had seen her plans to walk down the aisle ruined thanks to the ongoing pandemic, with her nuptials cancelled multiple times and her venue going bust - costing her and fiancé Nick £28,000.

After being whisked off to make it to her wedding, Ant and Dec caught up with Vicky as she made her way to Chiswick to walk down the aisle.

After Vicky left the studios, the presenters kept checking in on her journey - at one point visiting the bride-to-be enjoying a "hen do in the skies" with two of her pals.

Vicky and Nick finally became husband and wife at the end of the show (ITV)

"Guessing they planned this helicopter to the wedding before storm Eunice… #SaturdayNightTakeaway," one fan tweeted, as Vicky and her bridesmaids braved the skies.

Thankfully, Vicky's helicopter ride ended safely and the pregnant bride-to-be was greeted by her father, who whisked her away in a stunning white Rolls Royce.

Viewers - and the presenters - were moved as the happy couple became husband and wife live on-air.

The live studio audience cheered as Vicky and Nick finally managed to tie the knot, after years of setbacks, and begin their married life thanks to the help of Ant and Dec.
