An SNP MSP who quit the Government in protest over the controversial gender reform Bill is considering trying to replace Nicola Sturgeon, it has been reported.
The Herald reported Ash Regan may thrown her hat into the ring.
A source said she would enter the contest when nominations opened.
Sturgeon dramatically announced her resignation today, sparking a leadership contest.
Regan, the Edinburgh Eastern MSP, resigned from Sturgeon's Government last year over plans to make it easier for trans people to change gender.
