Snow covers Berlin as winter weather settles over the city

Berlin woke to a soft blanket of snow on Wednesday, turning the city into a quiet winter postcard.

Tourists and locals made the most of it, gathering around the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Cathedral to celebrate the final days of 2025.

Families built snowmen, children tossed snowballs, and visitors stopped often to take photos as flakes kept falling. The cold didn’t seem to bother anyone; laughter carried through the squares and along Unter den Linden.

For many Berliners, it was a rare December gift, a break from the typically wet winters. A fitting end to the year in Germany’s capital.
