Sneering shock jocks rip into Scotland as Spain heroics dubbed 'dull and drab insomnia cure'

Sneering English shock jocks Simon Jordan and Danny Murphy claimed they blanked Scotland’s stunning famous win over Spain as they branded our national side “dull and drab” and a “cure for insomnia”.

The talkSPORT duo teased Scots lunchtime show host Jim White over the Hampden victory with former Three Lions and Liverpool international Murphy claiming he only caught brief highlights of the 2-0 victory while ex-Crystal Palace owner Jordan said he preferred to watch a repeat of Songs of Praise.

White quizzed the pair on an epic night for Steve Clarke’s men as Scotland beat Spain for the first time in 39 years and the visitors suffered a first Euros qualifying defeat in TWENTY. White was buzzing over the result but his southern colleagues didn’t quite share his optimism as he asked them for their take on it. Murphy, capped nine times for England, said: “I’ve only seen brief highlights so I wouldn’t be dishonest enough to say I watched the game for obvious reasons - it tends to be dull and drab when you watch Scotland.

"They’ve exceeded all expectation last night. Nobody saw that coming, not even you. It’s a bit of brutal honesty.”

White pressed Murphy, saying it was his job to watch the game and arrive prepared for their radio show but Jordan piped in: “I didn’t watch it either. Cure for insomnia. It was a choice of Scotland, colonic irrigation or reruns of Songs of Praise so I did reruns of Songs of Praise.”
