THEY SAID IT: "The older players have probably been through this but the younger players have to learn that when we're holding onto a lead with a few minutes left that we defend that box with our lives." - Western United coach John Aloisi lamented Brisbane Roar scoring a late equaliser against his charges.
MAN OF THE WEEK: Western Sydney young gun Nicolas Milanovic was the difference for the Wanderers against Adelaide. Two first half Milanovic headers were enough to seal a 2-1 victory and keep the Wanderers firmly in the top six.
TALKING POINT: Three players were sent off as Melbourne Victory slumped to a 1-0 loss to Central Coast. Victory coach Tony Popovic couldn't believe Mariners star Angel Torres didn't see red for leaning in with his head on Connor Chapman, while Jordi Valadon's straight red for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity was particularly controversial.
STAT ATTACK: Coming into Sunday's match, Central Coast hadn't beaten Victory in 14 attempts at AAMI Park and had just four wins from their 34 matches at the venue. Their 1-0 win shifted the ledger slightly.
BEAT THAT: Marco Tilio's first goal since returning to Melbourne City was something special. The winger latched onto a clearance from City goalkeeper Jamie Young, then rounded two Sky Blues defenders and buried the ball past goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne.
UNDER PRESSURE: Adelaide United are winless in five, with four losses in that time, and are continuing their slide down the table. Ben Halloran was sent off against Western Sydney and the Reds will miss him against Wellington.
UP NEXT: Macarthur host battling City on Friday night. Then on Saturday, it's derby time as Newcastle and Central Coast face off, before the Wanderers take on Sydney FC. On Sunday, Wellington welcome Adelaide while Brisbane host Victory.
