NEW DELHI: The vice-captain of the Indian women's cricket team, Smriti Mandhana, has been unveiled as one of the icon players for the inaugural edition of the Women's Maharashtra Premier League (WMPL), scheduled to take place in June this year.
The formal announcement of the franchise-based T20 tournament featuring four teams was made by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), the state governing body, under the aegis of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
