It's understood dozens of tyres are alight, creating a large column of smoke rising from the flames.

Photos posted on social media show the extent of the smoke, which can be seen across Dublin Bay.

A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Firefighters are dealing with dozens of tyres on fire on waste ground in the Kinsealy area.

"There is visible black smoke in the area. If you live or work in the area and can smell smoke close your windows and doors to prevent the fumes from entering your home or building."
