A Glasgow couple who are smitten with each other will be enjoying a special Valentine's Day celebration after nearly 70 years of marriage.

Archie Kirkland, 93 and wife Martha, 91, will be paying homage to their loving relationship at the Newton Mearns care home they both live in.

The pair first met in London in the early 1950s through a mutual friend and began dating before tying the knot in May 1955, the Daily Record reports.
