Smithdown Weekender is back for a second time this year with 2023 Autumn dates confirmed

Smithdown Weekender is coming back for a second time this year, it has confirmed.

The festival has grown in size over the years with many bars, cafes and shops along the popular south Liverpool street getting involved. The weekend event is a chance to celebrate and support the local independent businesses that make the street so quirky and unique.

Those attending can expect local DJ’s, live music, art and literature in many of the bars. Few details have been released so far about the second event of the year, but organisers took to Facebook yesterday telling people to: “SAVE THE DATE”.

The Facebook post said: “The next Smithdown Weekender will take place over Friday 13th - Sunday 15th October! Three days of live music, DJs, art, literature and more at venues throughout Smithdown Road, Penny Lane and Smithdown Place. Always free, always a brilliant weekend.”

No details yet have been announced about the venues getting involved in the mini festival, but in in April 2023 it was supported by Black Cat, Handymans, Sefton Park Cricket Club, Nomad, Franks Bar, The Doghouse, The Dovey, Dead Ink, Big Lola’s, Beeswing, Bean there and 21st Amendment.
