Slower journeys predicted across Nottinghamshire as Met Office issues weather warning

People in Nottinghamshire are being warned of slower journey times and possible delays to bus and train services amid a weather warning throughout the county. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog across Nottinghamshire, which began just after midnight and lasts until 11am.

The weather service says: "Freezing fog will lead to difficult driving conditions and could cause travel delays in some areas on Monday." Delays and cancellations to flights are also possible due to the weather, according to the Met Office.

There are no other weather warnings in place for the rest of the week yet, with some sunny spells predicted across the region on Monday. But the Met Office does say mist and fog will thicken and return to most areas this evening, with some areas of higher ground being clearer.

The maximum temperature in Nottingham on Monday will be 5°C. with a low of -1°C. In its outlook for the East Midlands for the rest of the week, the Met Office is predicting bright weather over the next few days before cloudy conditions are set to return on Friday.
