Friends and family of Jamie Cannon paid an emotional tribute to the much-loved teenager this afternoon.
The 19-year-old Saltcoats youngster's body was found in the Ardeer area of Stevenston on Saturday, February 26.
Police confirmed the tragic find was Jamie six days later on Friday, March 4.
And today, close to one hundred mourners gathered at Auchenharvie Golf Course in Stevenston to release balloons in Jamie's honour.
Many of those paying tribute wore Celtic tops and released green, white, yellow and gold balloons into the sky.
One huge balloon read: "Jamie, sleep tight".
As part of the memorial event, people set off smoke bombs too.
The event took place as fundraising for Jamie's funeral hit £4,700.
Jamie's mum, Lynn, wrote on on her son's fundraising page: "It is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes as I write this, sadly Jamie was found on February 26, 2022.
"Not the outcome we all hoped for, the family would like to thank each and every single person for their support over the last 9 months and the continued support you are all giving them now too.
"Instead of making another go fund me page I would now ask that we give Jamie the send off he deserves and raise money for his funeral.
"Take some weight off his parents shoulders, Give Aidan & Liam's brother the send off he deserves..
"Sleep Tight Handsome In The Arms Of The Angels. Jamie will be forever 19."
