Sky Sports pundit makes Nottingham Forest vs Preston prediction

Nottingham Forest will be raring to go this evening as they face Preston North End following their postponed match against Bournemouth.

Forest were set to take on the Cherries on the south coast last Friday, but the match was postponed due to damage caused to the Vitality Stadium by Storm Eunice.

As Steve Cooper's men now return to action, they will be keen to reinforce their hopes of a top-six finish as they continue to chase for a Premier League return.

But the Lilywhites, who were surprised at home against Reading in their last outing in a 3-2 defeat, will be keen to return to winning ways, sitting just two points behind the Reds in 12th place.

In light of Preston's result at home last time out, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton reiterated that the Championship can surprise you when you "least expect it".

"Sometimes this division throws up results when you least expect it, and I certainly didn't expect Ryan Lowe's Preston to be beaten at home by Reading at the weekend," he wrote in his Sky Sports column.

"Nottingham Forest have had a bit of a break after their game at Bournemouth was called off, which may leave them a little fresher for this one.

"That being said, Lowe will be after a response from his side, so I'll go for a draw here."

Prutton prediction: Preston 1-1 Nottingham Forest.
