Sky Sports confirm latest TV picks involving Celtic, Rangers, Hibs & Aberdeen

Two Celtic and Rangers fixtures have respectively been selected for live television broadcast next year.

Sky Sports has announced fixture changes involving Glasgow's big two, Aberdeen, Hibernian and St Mirren.

Firstly, on Saturday, January 27 - the first Premiership game back after the winter break - will see the Buddies host Philippe Clement's side in Paisley. The match will be showcased on Sky, with a 12.30pm kick-off.

A week later on Saturday, February 3, Celtic will make the trip north to face Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Again, due to Sky's TV picks, this game will kick-off at 12.30pm.

On Tuesday, February 6, Rangers then host Aberdeen as Barry Robson's men make another TV appearance. This midweek match will begin at 8pm, though.

Finally, on Wednesday, February 7, Celtic's trip to Easter Road to play Hibs will be broadcast live. This one is also an 8pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, Scott Brown has described the lack of penalties conceded by Rangers in the Scottish Premiership as "incredible" and claims Aberdeen have little chance of receiving a spot kick in Sunday's League Cup final.

The Ibrox side last conceded a penalty in the league 23 months, and 71 games ago, when Lewis Ferguson netted in a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie in January 2022.

And Brown laughed when he heard the stats. He said: "Is that the last time they conceded a penalty?

"I’ve been retired that long .. since they last had a penalty against them (in the league)! That’s incredible, eh?

"It’s good to see VAR is working well! I don’t think Aberdeen will get a penalty on those stats! Wow.”

Brown also backed Brendan Rodgers to be successful come the end of the season.

Celtic have failed to win three games in a row so far this season but the former captain feels his old boss can turn things around.
