France sealed a first Six Nations Grand Slam since 2010 as the 2022 championship reached its conclusion on a busy Super Saturday.
Dominant Les Bleus needed to beat old rivals England in Paris on Saturday evening to finally end their 12-year wait for glory ahead of a home World Cup in 2023.
And they did just that, with Gael Fickou, Francois Cros and Antoine Dupont all scoring tries in a memorable 25-13 win over Eddie Jones’ battling side at the Stade de France.
Ireland had earler piled pressure on France in Dublin by wrapping up a bonus-point win over Scotland, sealing a first Triple Crown since 2018 in the process.
Earlier in round five, Italy produced their first Six Nations triumph since 2015 with a dramatic, last-gasp win over Wales in Cardiff.
That victory ended their horror run of 36 straight defeats in the tournament.
