Six men and a teenage boy have denied murdering Michael Toohey who was found fatally injured at an internet café.
Antony Williams, Michael Williams, Callum Hewell, Jack Knox, David Shelley, Matthew Wynn and a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, all pleaded not guilty to Michael's murder at Liverpool Crown Court today, October 10.
All seven defendants also pleaded not guilty to a separate charge of manslaughter during a plea and trial preparation hearing this morning. They were remanded in custody to await their trail beginning on November 14.
Michael, 18, of Oil Street, Liverpool died from multiple injuries after being attacked outside an internet café on London Road in the city centre on Saturday, April 16.

Nine people charged with Michael's murder appeared before Judge David Aubrey, QC, at Liverpool Crown Court today via video link. They include: Jack Knox, 19, of Oakdale Close, David Shelley, 25, of Chiltern Drive, Callum Hewell, 21, of Stratton Road, Matthew Wynn, 25, of Mosslawn Road, Michael Williams, 24, of Carlake Grove, Anthony Williams, 31, of Hillbrook Drive, Walton, Keiron Williams, 28, of no fixed address, Steven McInerney, 33, of no fixed address, and a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be identified.
Keiron Williams, 28, and Steven McInerney, 33, are set to enter pleas in connection with the case at a later date.
A total of 15 people have been arrested in connection with Michael's murder. Three men, aged 27, 19 and 54 arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender were released under investigation.
One woman, 34, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was bailed. A 14-year-old and 15-year-old previously arrested and bailed with conditions have since been released under investigation.
