Prime Minister Boris Johnson is today fighting for his political life as some of his own Conservative MPs move to get him out of Downing Street following allegations surrounding parties and gatherings during lockdown.
What makes things particularly bad for the PM is that his critics are not from the usual suspects - his own backbenchers are becoming increasingly vocal about the damage they feel the furore is doing to their electoral chances.
Today, Mr Johnson faces Prime Minister's Questions which is likely to be another bruising encounter for the PM, with reports that letters are being sent in to the influential 1922 Committee of backbench Tory MPs that could trigger a leadership challenge.
