Tom Holland has confirmed that he is married to Zendaya, ending months of speculation surrounding the couple.
The Spider-Man co-stars, who have been together for nearly a decade, first sparked rumours when Zendaya was seen wearing a gold wedding band months ago.
Holland, 30, issued the confirmation during an interview with Esquire.
It followed an incident where AI-generated images that appeared to show the wedding ceremony went viral.
Holland was asked about how his grandmother had mistakenly believed that she had been snubbed from the invite list, and whether he had to clarify that the photos were fake to any other family members.
“No, because they were all there,” he replied.
He added: “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
Speaking about his wife, Holland also shared a rare insight into their relationship.
“Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he said.
“We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else.
“So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.
“Maybe when I was young with my parents and my dad was picking me up from school. Not to say that our relationship is like my mum and dad.”
In the interview, Holland also recalled his first impressions of Zendaya and said he was “super excited at the prospect of working with her and getting to know her”.
“She smashed her audition out the park and got the part before she’d even left the room. I remember when she closed the door to leave, (producer) Amy Pascal was immediately like, ‘Well, she’s getting the job’.”
Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach had claimed the couple’s wedding had already happened when interviewed on the red carpet earlier this year.
The couple have kept their romance largely private, but confirmed their relationship in November 2021 and got engaged last year.
Zendaya had also previously spoken about the fake AI images of their wedding, telling Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show that “many people have been fooled by them”.
“While I was just out and about in real life, people were like, ‘Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous’, and I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real’,” she said.
Despite addressing the fake snaps, she avoided further questions regarding rumours of her marriage and teased: “Really? I haven’t seen any of them.”
