Six Glasgow food spots have been included in a UK Top 100 Restaurants guide.
SquareMeal's annual list is the only of its kind to exclude restaurants in London, in an attempt to showcase the UK's wider dining scene.
The Top 100 has been compiled using a combination of SquareMeal’s own expert critics and thousands of reader's votes to list 'a true reflection of Britain’s beautifully varied dining scene'.
In there are fine dining experiences, farm-to-table restaurants and gastropubs, with each 'truly unique' entry having 'an unmissable menu'.

And Glasgow can proudly boast six restaurants out of a grand total of 13 Scottish inclusions on this year's list - Cail Bruich, at number 14, Unalome by Graeme Cheevers, at 40, Bar Brett, at 61, Gloriosa, at 62, Julie's Kopitam at 90, and Celentano's at number 96.
Here's what SquareMeal said about each of the top Glasgow food spots.
Chef Lorna McNee heads up the kitchen and has ditched the previous a la carte format for two multi-course tasting menus, the contents of which are dictated by the seasons and largely made up of ingredients that have been sourced locally (some even come from the kitchen’s own garden).
The restaurant's name - Unalome - refers to a Buddhist symbol, which represents the path to enlightenment. It's a symbol that perfectly encapsulates Graeme’s own journey - his passion for cooking has taken him as far as Singapore and New York, before returning to his home country of Scotland.
Bar Brett is a modern wine bar and barbecue restaurant from the team behind Cail Bruich, the latter being located in Glasgow’s West End and serving British, produce-led tasting menus. Bar Brett’s offering is a little different, however, in that it specialises in natural, low-intervention wine and cooking with fire.
The menu at Gloriosa is focused on dishes which have been influenced by the Mediterranean and can be paired with a selection of wines from small independent European producers. The offering is made up of a short selection of small and large plates, designed to share (we’d recommend ordering five or six dishes between two).
Located just a stone's throw from Glasgow's Queen's Park in Shawlands, Julie's Kopitiam is a small neighbourhood joint serving Malaysian street food. Owned and run by former MasterChef quarterfinalist Julie Lin Macleod, the casual restaurant is often full to the brim but you can simply add your name to a list, be given a time, and pass the time in a nearby pub until it's your turn.

Set in the iconic Cathedral House near Glasgow's bustling city centre, Celentano's is a relaxed Italian-inspired eatery. Husband and wife team Dean and Anna cook up snacks, bread, pasta, fish, meat, and veg as simple yet exciting sharing plates.
Meanwhile, Somerset restaurant Osip came out on top as the UK’s best restaurant, with the SquareMeal team commenting: "This tiny farm-to-table gem is located in the village of Bruton and is owned by ex-head chef of London favourites Portland and Clipstone, Merlin Labron-Johnson.
"The 22-cover restaurant is housed in a charming stone building which used to be the village ironmonger and brings top-quality cooking to this idyllic rural spot."
Speaking about Osip’s win - Chef Founder of Osip Merlin Labron-Johnson said: “It’s a huge honour to be awarded No1 in SquareMeal’s top 100 UK restaurants. I’m so grateful to my team, and the amazing local suppliers we work with who have been so integral to achieving this accolade.
"I’m really proud that this has been voted for by genuine, passionate people who love what we’re doing at Osip, so it truly does mean a lot."
The top three UK restaurants included Ynyshir in Powys and Pensons in Herefordshire. Wales, in particular, has had a wave of incredible restaurants, including Home at Penarth and SY23 .
