Diners who fled without paying a massive £270 bill have been warned to return and foot the bill or footage of them will be turned over to the police and shared on social media.
A family run pub has issued a public plea to the customers who dined and dashed on them.
The Sutton Arms in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, welcomed a table of six who enjoyed steak and lobsters and over £70 of drinks before they fled without paying.
A bill of £273.40 was left unpaid by the dinners, leaving the family run pub out of pocket, Teesside Live reported.
The owners of the pub were willing to give the table the benefit of the doubt. Instead of going straight to police, they took to social media to appeal to them to pay the hefty bill.
They even messaged the diners on social media to ask them to pay the bill, but didn’t hear back.
In the post, the pub suggested that there may have been some confusion over who paid. But said if the bill wasn’t settled, they would be forced to involve the police and post the footage of them online.
The pub posted: “Please could the table of 6 FINNEY come back to pay their bill after you left last night without paying!!
“I'm guessing there must of been a bit of confusion when leaving thinking another member of party had already paid the bill! We have tried to message you on social media but had no reply!
“Please could you pay the bill this evening or even post the money through the letter box! Otherwise we will have to share the CCTV footage with the police and on social media
“We are a small family run pub trying out hardest in these tough times for hospitality. Mistakes happen so hopefully this can be sorted before we have to take it further! Please share this post.”
The party of six dined out that evening, ordering some of the most expensive items on the menu.
Three of them had the eight ounce fillet steak, at £24 a head, whilst the other three went for the lavish eight ounce fillet steak served with half a lobster, at £32 each.
The family business, like countless across the country and beyond, are facing down the cost of living crisis.
The pub confirmed to The Mirror that they still had not come forward but they had extended the deadline to Monday before they went to police.
