The filing deadline for the Maine Republican presidential primary passed on Dec. 1, 2023. Six candidates qualified to appear on the March 5, 2024, ballot. In order to qualify, candidates had to submit a petition with 2,000 signatures.
The following candidates qualified:
- Ryan Binkley
- North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum
- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
- Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley
- Vivek Ramaswamy
- Former President Donald Trump
Binkley, Burgum, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, DeSantis, Haley, Ramaswamy, David Stuckenberg, and Trump have all filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. The next Republican presidential primary filing deadline will take place on Dec. 5, 2023, in Tennessee.
