Liverpool restaurant Six by Nico has been forced to temporarily close due to flooding in its basement.
The restaurant, on North John Street in Liverpool city centre, has been forced to call in experts to deal with the water that is repeatedly leaking into the basement. The water issues have been traced back to problems with the roof of the seven-storey building, which also houses a number of apartments.
A spokesperson for Six by Nico said discussions with the building's landlords are ongoing. But the restaurant added it has been forced to close to customers while further investigations and remedial work is carried out.

The concept restaurant, which specialises in a six course tasting menu with regularly changing themes, was given a zero star food hygiene rating in October last year. The report said major improvement was necessary in the area of 'hygienic food handling'.
The inspection also focused on the appropriateness of the layout of Six by Nico, the restaurant's ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control. A more recent report from February this year gave the restaurant three stars out of five.
Commenting on the recent flooding problems, a spokesperson for Six by Nico said: “It’s extremely disappointing that we’ve had to take this decision, but the problems caused by water leaking into the basement mean we had no option.
“We are in the process of contacting our customers to let them know about the closure and will inform them as soon as we know when we can reopen.
"We have been in discussions with the landlord and have asked them to address the problem urgently so that we can reopen as soon as possible. We don’t yet have a definitive timetable, but we appreciate it’s hugely frustrating for everyone, including our staff and we are very keen to get the issue resolved so that we can get back to serving the people of Liverpool.”
The chain restaurant also has branches in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester, London and Dublin.
