An experimental lung drug whose molecule was designed by generative artificial intelligence appears to have moved something well beyond the lungs. In a paper published September 7 in Nature Biotechnology, six separate proteomic aging clocks all pointed the same way: patients who took rentosertib were predicted to be biologically younger by the end of treatment, while the placebo group drifted slightly older.
Then comes the wrinkle. The dose that improved lung function the most was not the dose the clocks read as youngest.
