Sister of murdered Tony Dempsey 'in fear for her life' after flat door smashed

The sister of murdered Tony Dempsey has pleaded with Dublin City Council to move her to different accommodation as she is "in fear for her life".

The body of Tony Dempsey, aged 28, was discovered in a ground-floor property of Kevin Barry House on Coleraine Street in Dublin on September 12. His remains lay there decomposing for at least a week before gardai responded to complaints of the smell coming from the flat.

Gardai launched an investigation into Mr Dempsey's murder but no one has been arrested to date. The Dublin Region Homeless Executive and Peter McVerry Trust, who managed the flat, previously said they will carry out a review into the tenancy together.
