The sister of Dean McCann, the man whose body was tragically found in Galway after he had been reported missing, has shared a touching tribute to her brother on social media.
Dublin man Dean McCann was reported missing last week, on Sunday February 6, and a major search operation had been carried out since.
On Monday Gardai announced they had recovered a body on Sunday February 13 at Dangan, Galway and that the search had been stood down.
Following the tragic news, Tara McCann, Dean’s younger sister, posted on Instagram a picture of her late brother with a short but touching tribute - GalwayBeo reports.
She wrote: “Our amazing Dean. My big brother. The light of our lives... always and forever”
In response, many sent messages of condolence for her loss as the post was inundated with support and sympathy.
One sympathiser wrote: “Thinking of you at this difficult time Tara. sending you all the love ”
Another sent love as well as consoling the family: “So sorry for your loss. sending so much love to you and your family at this hard time xxx”
Tara’s tribute arrived just a few days after her mum shared Dean’s final words to her before he went missing.
She said: "The last time I saw him was last Sunday morning. He said he would keep in touch but he didn't. He said he was in Galway, that was his last location I knew of. So I went to Galway on Sunday looking for him. I was there for three days."
