Sir Tom Jones supported by fellow singer after abrupt departure from The Voice

  • Sir Tom Jones has confirmed his exit as a full-time coach from ITV's singing competition The Voice UK after being offered a much-reduced role by the broadcaster ahead of series 15.
  • In a statement on Instagram, the 86-year-old singer revealed that ITV cited insurance and financial difficulties and a desire to refresh the coaching panel, adding he was not thrilled about being let go.
  • Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia , who toured alongside Sir Tom earlier this year, expressed her sadness and confusion over the broadcaster's decision during an interview on Virgin Radio UK.
  • An ITV spokesperson praised Sir Tom for his nine years on the programme and stated that conversations are continuing with his team regarding potential involvement in the upcoming series.
  • Sir Tom has served as a central coach on The Voice UK since its initial launch on BBC One in 2012, successfully guiding three contestants to victory during his tenure.
