Sir Rod Stewart's son shares sweet kilt-clad throwback snap from Glasgow Hampden gig

Despite having a super famous rocker dad, Alastair Stewart proved that he's still a mummy's boy by sharing some sweet snaps of him and Penny Lancaster.

Sir Rod Stewart's 16-year-old son took to Instagram yesterday to share the throwback picture of him and his mum when he was just a toddler.

And thought it was a cute mother and son moment, featuring Penny holding one-year-old Alastair as he danced around at a gig his dad was playing at Glasgow's Hampden Park Stadium in 2007, it showed the youngster is a bit of a chip off the old block, as he was wearing a tiny little red kilt especially for the occasion.

In the post, Alastair also shared a recent photo of him and his model-turned-police-officer mum as they cuddled up on a recent dinner outing.

Alastair captioned the post with a simple black heart emoji and his mum replied: "Love you too."

Fans of the pair quickly flocked to the comments.

One wrote: "I was at that gig very front row, your dad took you on stage, you were trying to copy his dancing."

While one wrote: "So sweet! Love the kilt."

And another added: "What a gorgeous pic."

Just last month, the Maggie May singer offered wise words to teenage Alastair so he doesn't get tied down too young.

Sir Rod admitted he tells his son to 'keep it in your trousers' to avoid really becoming a chip off the old block anytime soon.

During an appearance on Australian TV, the 77-year-old was asked what advice he'd give his younger self if he could.

The rocker said he'd give the same tips he gives to Alastair - which is not to fool around.

But he said the teenager, who he describes as 'extraordinarily good looking', wasn't likely to follow his advice.

“Keep it in your trousers. I tell my son that because I had a child at 17," Rod said.

"He’s 15, and extraordinarily good looking, so ‘No babies, keep it in your trousers, No babies!”
