Sir Ranulph Fiennes hails 'enchanting' festive Heathrow Express service revolutionising Christmas for jet-setting Brits

Jet-setting Brits’ journeys are being revolutionised this Christmas by a festive-themed train between London and Heathrow Airport.

Heathrow Express passengers will be able to enjoy a unique new experience between December 5 and 7, with one of the service’s carriages transformed into an enchanting Christmas scene.

The service departs from Paddington Station in Central London and takes just 15 minutes to arrive at the UK’s largest airport.

The Festive Express has been launched by Heathrow Express and Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the world’s greatest living explorer, who says there’s no better way to get in the Christmas spirit.

Fiennes, who was the first to experience the festive train, said: “If, like me, you travel a lot and are planning an adventure this Christmas then plot your course for London’s Paddington Station.

“The Heathrow Festive Express is an enchanting way to get into the Christmas spirit.”

Postal elves will be on hand to greet passengers as they step onboard, where they will be surrounded with twinkling lights and the sound of sleigh bells ringing.

Once seated, passengers can immerse themselves in a magical carriage decked with colourful baubles, packed with parcels, and rammed to the rafters with festive fun.

And families will also be able to write a letter to Santa, in addition to getting their hands on special treats including a Golden Ticket giveaway and a chance to win a shopping spree, which are on offer across the three days.

The joy continues for those travelling for the rest of December, with a Christmas tree covered in bright baubles and vintage decorations front and centre at Paddington up until January 6th.

Young passengers will be thrilled with a mini version of the Heathrow Express running on tracks around the tree in a snowy scene.

And up until December 23rd, anyone passing through Paddington will be treated to live performances from carol singers roaming the station, with seasonal Instagram-worthy photo opportunities set up to delight every traveller.

Plus, kids 15 years and under travel free, making a trip to the North Pole - or any other destination - even better value for money.

The Heathrow Festive Express carriage is available to passengers on a first come, first served basis, and is included within the regular ticket cost. Visit www.heathrowexpress.com to book tickets and follow @HeathrowExpress for updates on the Heathrow #FestiveExpress.
