Sir Kenny Dalglish joked that Luis Garcia was a 'traitor' for playing for both Liverpool and Barcelona during Saturday’s legends match at Anfield.
A star-studded Liverpool legends team was beaten 2-1 by Barcelona. Despite taking the lead through Steven Gerrard’s penalty, the Reds were pegged back when Giovanni raced clear to finish past Sander Westerveld a minute before the break.
Barca then sealed victory in the opening stages of the second half when Rivaldo converted from the penalty spot after Phil Baab brought down Giovanni inside the box. Referee Peter Bankes had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.

Liverpool tried to respond as Milan Baros, Stewart Downing and Dirk Kuyt all went close. However, there was no way past Xavier Guzman in the Barca goal.
But speaking ahead of the game at his side’s pre-match meeting in the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool great Dalglish couldn’t resist having a dig at the Spaniard.
He said: “The starting XI will be: Sander, Glen, Carra, Sami, Daniel, Fabio, Bjorn, Salif, Stevie, Dirk and Luis is turning traitor after 45 minutes. He’s jumping to the other side.
“So, we will just see how it goes and everybody else who is not involved in that and some who are involved will have to play in the second part of the game as well.”
Speaking on his return to Anfield, Garcia said post-match : "For me, Anfield is special. A lot of people that I met in my career, everyone has this ground as a special place because of the atmosphere and the spirit you feel.
“We all talked about the Champions League nights at Anfield, everybody knows about that in the world. That's why it is one of the most special ones."
