Sir Elton John collaborates with Leeds band Yard Act as artists spotted in recording studio

Sir Elton John popped in to see Leeds band Yard Act as they team up for an epic collaboration.

Yard Act, led by James Smith, bagged a number two in the album charts when their debut album The Overload was released earlier this year. The group have also featured on many lists of bands tipped for big things.

They are quickly earning an army of fans and seemingly they have one in music icon Sir Elton John. Taking to Twitter, the band posted from a recording studio: “Always nice when a mate pops into the studio to see what you’re up to. Ace to see you @eltonofficial.”

Understandably, this then got fans jumping to all kinds of conclusions. Many are hoping the two artists might be working together on music and they would be right.

On Twitter, @leeroyb asked: “Putting out his next long player?” While @Spireboxer added: “Yessss boys. It doesn't get much bigger than Sir Elton. Hope you’re all good.”

We also saw @billymulhernn comment: “Unreal to see.” While @LennyBr64521062 joked: “Best photoshop EVER!”

The Band have done a feature with Rolling Stone about teaming up with Sir Elton. They've worked together on the song 100 per cent Endurance. Lead singer James said: "It’s a re-recorded version featuring Elton bloody John. I can’t believe it. We knew there was a slight chance he might say yeah, but you can’t comprehend it really.

"He had been very kind to us and continued to say kind things and was calling us up a bit more, so it became like this something he might go for. Management sent out the request and he rang me up within a day to say that he was definitely up for it. I asked him what he wanted to do and he just said ‘Whatever you want. It’s your track and I’m at your disposal. I just wanna be a part of it’. I was like ‘F**king hell, cool! We’re gonna get Elton to play'."
