Sir David Attenborough ‘overwhelmed’ by public messages ahead of 100th birthday

David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough has expressed being "completely overwhelmed" by public messages ahead of his 100th birthday.
The legendary broadcaster will celebrate his milestone birthday on Friday, 8 May.
He plans to spend the day with close family before attending a live event in his honour at the Royal Albert Hall.
In an audio message released on Thursday, Sir David thanked well-wishers, noting he had expected a quieter celebration.
He extended his gratitude to everyone who wished him a special day, from primary school children to care home residents.
