Former legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson could be a 'secret Leeds fan' after some interesting revelations were made on Life With Brian: The Brian McClair Podcast.
Ferguson is widely recognised as one of the game's greatest-ever managers after he guided the Red Devils to 13 Premier League titles during his 26 seasons in charge at Old Trafford.
Leeds developed a feisty rivalry with United during the duration of his tenure, despite the two clubs being in different divisions for 16 years through the 2000s. Ferguson has since gone on record to describe Elland Road as one of the most hostile stadiums to play in.

However, several Leeds-related anecdotes were revealed on the podcast by journalist, author and Leeds United fan James Brown, leading to suggestions that the Scotsman is secretly a supporter of the Whites. "Somebody else who spoke fondly about going to Elland Road is your [McClair's] old manager, Mr. Ferguson," explained Brown.
"I noticed one day he was talking about when he was signing Berbatov. If you think of a Manchester United player that Berbatov maybe compared to maybe Dennis Law, but Fergie didn't refer to any other Manchester United player.
"He said he's like Allan Clarke, 'he reminds me of Allan Clarke', who was a great player. Slowly this thing ticks around in my mind because I knew that Fergie had that picture of Dave Mackay.
"I saw a picture of him sitting under the picture of Dave Mackey holding [Billy] Bremner and I also knew that he was at the European Cup final game that [Don] Revie and Bremner had gone to when they'd seen Real Madrid and Revie decided to take Leeds from a blue with a yellow trim kit to all white.
"Then there was another game when Fergie was playing for Rangers and Leeds knocked them out of a European tournament, and really schooled them. He had a bad game and I started thinking about when Bremner had died Ferguson came back on another plane from the players to go to the funeral the next day to speak at it.
"These comments made me start to wonder if maybe Fergie was actually a secret Leeds fan."
