Sinitta has slammed Celebs Go Dating 's 'disgraceful editing' after the show hinted she was still in love with ex-boyfriend Simon Cowell.
Sinitta claimed her confession of love for the music mogul was taken completely out of context. Simon, 63, dated Sinitta, 59, in the 80s while she was signed to his record label and was a frequent guest on the X Factor.
Simon is currently planning his wedding to long-term partner Lauren Silverman, who he shares his eight-year-old son Eric with. Taking to Twitter to vent her frustrations, Sinitta slammed the show: "Disgraceful editing!
"To say I was still 'in love' with @SimonCowell was a huge disservice to me and my endeavours. Why did you do this? Love and 'in Love' are very different @CelebsGoDating @awilliamsonTV @PaulCBrunson #iTrustedYou."
It comes after the celebrity matchmakers Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson asked Sinitta to open up about her relationship with Simon. Telling the dating agents, Sinitta said: "Of course I fancied him, but I didn't think he was into me at all.
"Simon is widely sought after, and he's a big womaniser. He likes hot models, you know we'd go to all the clubs and everybody is into Simon. He's gonna kill me... But he would go missing on the weekends."
She added: "Yep, we would make up, break up, make up, break up."
Sinitta dated the media personality on and off throughout the years, but the pair now have a friendly relationship. Speaking to The Sun, she said: "Simon was surprised I was doing Celebs Go Dating.
"He said 'well, anyone they fix you up with I’ll have to vet them.' Simon’s got that protective big brother thing which was very sweet.
"I would like anyone I’m with to get on with Simon because obviously, he’s one of my closest best friends. We want to hang out and we’re godparents to each other’s children. It would definitely be nice if they got on, but we’ll have to wait and see."
The TV personality also discussed her relationship with Cowell to MailOnline : "It was about 10 years ago and yeah I was wanting to still be with him then, yes. So that was upsetting and… unrequited love but I'm not gonna kill myself over it.
"It was kind of on and off, on and off, so there was kind of an unspoken understanding that was obviously a misunderstanding on my part but it's ok.
"I'm not the villain cos I genuinely thought we were working things out and that's why it was upsetting but that's life, right? Maybe I'll meet someone at his wedding."
