Pop star Anne-Marie steps out with her new rap star boyfriend Slowthai... and plays peacemaker after a club bust-up.
The pair, who have grown close in recent months, were at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, where John Legend had been performing an intimate gig. But Slowthai, 27, was later ejected from the London venue – where Stormzy was also in attendance – and was filmed giving a bouncer an earful.
Video footage shows Anne-Marie, 31, trying to pull him away. But Slowthai goes back to the doorman and says: “Do you know who my family are, you f***ing d**khead?
“Welcome to the family, yeah... you want to see something? You think you’re a serious guy? Let’s see how serious you are.”
An onlooker said: “Anne-Marie was seen trying to stop her partner as he hurled abuse at the doorman. He was pretty riled up. Eventually, the pair walked up the road and got into a waiting van. They seemed like they were a couple.”
Anne-Marie was wearing a glittery pink frock and white heels which she had worn earlier to a Prince’s Trust event in the West End.
Slowthai – real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton – was wearing a grey tracksuit and trainers.
The Northampton rapper is renowned for his gritty instrumentals and politically-charged lyrics. Brexit and ex-Tory PM Theresa May are among his previous targets.
And at a Mercury Prize performance in 2019, he sparked controversy by holding up a fake severed head of Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Essex-born Anne-Marie, famed for hits like Ciao Adios and Alarm, has previously remained tight-lipped about her romances.
In 2018, she said: “I’ve never just been attracted to men. I’ve never just been attracted to women. I just feel like I’m attracted to who I like.”
Anne-Marie, Slowthai and Ronnie Scott’s were approached for comment.
