In a recent update, Singapore passport has replaced Japan to become the world’s most powerful passport. Those holding Singapore passports can have visa-free entry to 192 countries across the globe.
But the good news is that Indian passport holders can now enter 57 countries visa free or get a visa on arrival as India has gone up five positions to be in the 80th spot.
The report released by Henley Passport Index also revealed that after being on top for five years, Japanese passport had dropped to third place in the list. Because of this, the number of destinations its passport holders can visit without a visa has also fallen.
Japan shares the third spot with Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea and Sweden. Citizens of all these nations can now visit 189 countries visa free.
The report further mentioned that the US, which topped the ranking some 10 years ago, has also gone down two numbers to eighth place. The UK, however, has jumped two places up and reached fourth spot.
