USA Gymnastics made an announcement on Monday that Simone Biles will be participating in all four events - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise - in Tuesday's women's team final. Biles, expressing her gratitude for being able to do what she loves, shared her sentiments in an Instagram post following a calf injury flareup during the women's gymnastics qualification.
During the competition, Biles experienced discomfort after landing awkwardly while warming up for her floor routine. She briefly left the arena but returned with her lower left leg heavily taped. Despite the challenges, she managed to secure the top spot in the all-around rankings and helped Team USA claim the first position in the team standings.
Her coach, Cecile Landi, revealed that Biles had been managing calf pain for a few weeks leading up to the event in Paris, which resurfaced during Sunday's competition.
Simone Biles' schedule for the 2024 Olympics includes the following events:
- Tuesday: Women's team final at 6:15 p.m. local time (12:15 p.m. ET)
