Simon Cowell is known for his cutting comments on his TV talent shows - but he couldn’t have been nicer during a recent trip to the Cotswolds.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge took a break from filming to spend some time in the UK with fiancée Lauren Silverman and eight-year-old son Eric.
The family were spotted shopping around Chipping Norton, which is popular with the celeb set and where they have recently bought a house.
When Eric wanted a milkshake him and his dad popped into Tickittyshake, where kind staff offered him one for free.
But the 62-year-old music mogul– who is said to be worth $600 million – thanked them for their offer and insisted on paying.
He then posed for selfies with staff members and fans, proving he really has mellowed in recent years.

Katie Henderson, who was working on the counter at Tickittyshake at the time with Isabella Watkins, told Gloucestershire Live : “He was super polite, super patient and super lovely.
“He is pretty intimidating on his shows, but he wasn’t like that at all.
“Although he could have had the milkshake for free, he insisted on paying, which was really appreciated. I think he understood that we’re a small business and wanted to support us.”
Staff were also very complimentary about young Eric, who picked up some toys alongside his shake.
“Eric was really polite and ordered everything himself,” said Katie. “But he was also like any other little boy and really interested in the sweets, the chocolate and the shakes.”
Simon and his 44-year-old fiancée Lauren, who is also a millionaire in her own right, are rumoured to be getting married in the Cotswolds next month.
A source told OK! magazine: “They are trying to have the wedding in September, but that’s dependent on whether Lauren can have their new Cotswolds house completed in time – as this is where she wants to hold the wedding.
“This is why Lauren is currently here in the UK while Simon is in LA. She’s trying to get the house finished.”
If for any reason the house isn’t finished on time, the source said there is a good chance the wedding will be postponed until next year.
It is a miracle a wedding is even taking place at all as bachelor Simon famously declared he would never walk down the aisle.
But that all changed when the music mogul began dating New York socialite Lauren in 2013.
Another surprise was when Simon became a dad to son Eric a year later, after previously saying he never wanted kids.
Famous faces set to be invited to the wedding include Simon’s fellow Britain's Got Talent judges Amanda Holden , David Walliams and Alesha Dixon are expected to be on the guest list, as well as Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
Former X Factor judge Cheryl is also said to be on the exclusive guest list after Simon reportedly invited her in an attempt to heal their rift.
