Silksong and Slay the Spire 2 well up with pride as Mina the Hollower forces Devolver Digital to delay Dark Scrolls, which somehow isn't a Soulslike

Devolver Digital has delayed its new co-op action game thanks to the release of Mina the Hollower.

The duo of developers known as Doinksoft behind the upcoming co-op roguelite Dark Scrolls released a note onto its Steam page last week announcing the delay, saying: "You know when we said we were releasing Dark Scrolls on May 28? We actually meant June 22, and it’s nothing to do with our friends at Yacht Club Games announcing that Mina the Hollower would be launching a day later on May 29."

In a video released on Twitter, co-developer Cullen Dwyer elaborates on the change, saying, "Originally we were going to release Dark Scrolls on May 28th, but it turns out I'm going to be a little bit busy playing Mina the Hollower which comes out on May 29th." Dwyer adds: "Because we have our priorities in the right place – and I already requested it off from work – we're going to be pushing Dark Scrolls back, just a little bit to June 22nd"

He then thanks potential fans for their patience, before saying, "go play Mina, and I will see you on June 22nd."

It's worth noting that these videos were released before the reviews came out for Yacht Club Games' latest title, so as far as I'm concerned, the devs also dodged a bullet, just like those who delayed their games to get away from Silksong and Slay the Spire 2 did.

Mina the Hollower is the best game of 2026 so far, as far as Metacritic score goes, and after 12 years of waiting from Shovel Knight's release, the studio's first proper follow-up has proved to be a hit with critics. GamesRadar+'s Mina the Hollower review gave it 4.5/5, immediately placing it among the best games of 2026 (matching the score awarded to Resident Evil Requiem and Pokemon Pokopia).
