Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United by mutual consent following his explosive comments on a number of topics about the club in a recent interview with Piers Morgan.
In a club statement, United confirmed the departure of Ronaldo for a second time after he left the club in 2009 for Real Madrid, placing on record their thanks to the Portuguese forward.
United said: "The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.
