MUMBAI: In a controversial, yet audacious decision, Mumbai have dropped opener Prithvi Shaw on "fitness grounds" during their ongoing campaign in the Ranji Trophy.
The 24-year-old batsman, who recently uploaded a video of himself toiling in the gym, was given a 'break' for the last match against Tripura at Agartala, and will also remain absent from the defending champions' next fixture against Odisha at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC from Wednesday. It's understood that Shaw has been prescribed a rigorous regimen to reduce excess weight.
