NEW DELHI: AP member Sanjay Singh and former Union minister Prakash Javadekar took swipes at each other over the film "The Kashmir Files" with Singh demanding it be made available on YouTube and shown on Doordarshan. Returning fire, Javadekar dared the Delhi government to make the film tax free as the AAP member has said in Parliament that every citizen in the country should watch it.
"Why won't we set the record straight. There were slogans of 'Azaadi Azaadi', 'Afzal tumhare kaatil jinda hai', 'Ek Afzal Maroge to har Ghar se Afzal niklega'. Who supported these slogans?" Javadekar said. He said that the anger of people against the "tukde tukde" gang has come out in "The Kashmir Files". Javdekar added that "those who call themselves anarchist are preaching patriotism".
"If the movies reflect the truth of the society then it should be encouraged. I demand from the government that the movie 'Kashmir Files' should be free and released on YouTube so that everyone in the country can watch it," Singh said. "It is important to know what steps have you taken to rehabilitate Kashmiri Pandits, share that with the House," Singh added.
