The Pittsburgh Steelers made a splash signing this offseason when they added former Jacksonville Jaguars inside linebacker Myles Jack. Jack gives the Steelers the most athletic inside linebacker they’ve had since Ryan Shazier.
But what if the could do even more? This has been the offseason of big moves and with the rumor out that Chicago Bears inside linebacker Roquan Smith wants out of Chicago, it does make one wonder. A tandem of Smith and Jack would be the best pair of inside linebackers this team has had since Shazier and Lawrence Timmons patrolled the middle of the field.
According to reports, Smith doesn’t feel valued by the Bears and wants a contract extension.
Roquan Smith said in a statement that he is requesting a trade from the Chicago Bears after the front office "refused to negotiate in good faith" & "doesn't value" the 25-year-old linebacker, who says he's been trying to get an extension done since April.https://t.co/QhROL46GRd

Before you ask, yes I know Devin Bush is still on the roster. But the reality is, it’s unlikely the Steelers are going to give Bush the contract he wants in the offseason and he’s been something of a disappointment since the team traded up for him in the 2019 NFL draft. Pittsburgh would be addressing inside linebacker in the next offseason anyway so why not get a jump on things and find an elite replacement right now?
