Should the Steelers explore a trade with QB Mitch Trubisky?

Sunday night’s performance was a step in the right direction for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The offense wasn’t perfect and the Las Vegas Raiders aren’t exactly powerhouses. Nevertheless, we saw legitimate improvement, especially from quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Does Pickett’s 235-yard, 2-touchdown performance against the Raiders mean Pickett has found his mojo again? If the answer is yes, the next question is could the Steelers try to work a trade involving backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky to either bring in a veteran at a position of need or a draft pick for the future?

If you say yes, the team that jumps out as a potential trade partner is the New York Jets. With Aaron Rodgers lost to an Achilles injury, New York is unable to even tread water with Zach Wilson under center.

A trade like this would mean Mason Rudolph assumes the role of No. 2 quarterback. Not exactly the best-case scenario but is the dropoff really that significant?
