Would you accept a 15 to 20% salary reduction if it meant getting away from a difficult workplace? That is the dilemma one employee raised on Reddit after receiving a job offer that would pay less but potentially allow them to leave behind a manager they said had made their working life increasingly difficult.
The employee said there was nothing particularly wrong with the job itself. However, they claimed their manager’s constant micromanagement, repeated questioning and apparent lack of trust had begun affecting their life beyond the workplace. With no opportunity to move to another role within the company, the employee was considering whether a lower salary would be worth the change.
