The mother of a nine-year-old girl allegedly murdered in NSW is accused of helping the man charged with killing her steal firearms months before she was shot dead.

It has not been suggested Kallista Mutten, 39, played any role in the death of her daughter Charlise, whose body was found in a barrel dumped near the Colo River northwest of Sydney after a five-day search in January.

Mutten's fiance Justin Stein was charged with the girl's murder, which allegedly took place on his family's multi-million dollar Blue Mountains property days before she was reported missing.

Months after charging the 31-year-old with murder, police brought additional charges in May over an alleged home invasion last year, when two firearms were stolen from a property in the Mount Wilson area.

The two firearms as well as ammunition were forensically examined after they were uncovered during a February search of bushland near Mount Wilson.

In addition to several firearms offences, Stein was charged with aggravated break and enter in company.

Mutten was charged with the same offence last week and has been granted bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on August 8.

"A woman's been charged over her alleged role in a home invasion that was uncovered as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged murder of a girl in the Blue Mountains earlier this year," NSW Police said in a statement on Thursday.

"It will be alleged in court the woman was involved in the Mount Wilson home invasion last year."

It's not believed the firearms found in bushland in February were used in the alleged murder of Charlise.

NSW Police did not confirm whether they were aware of the weapons being used in any other crime.
